Optional Cancel For Any Reason Benefit
If the Insured purchased the Optional Cancel for Any Reason Benefit and cancels his/her Covered Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this plan, we will reimburse the Insured for the percentage of the prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable Payments or Deposits the Insured paid for his/her Trip provided:
1. the Insured’s payment for this plan is received within 24 hours of the date the Insured’s initial deposit for his/her Covered Trip is received; and
2. the Insured is not disabled from travel at the time the Insured pays his/her premium; and
3. the Insured insures 100% of all prepaid Covered Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions; and
4. the Covered Trip cost per person is no more than $10,000; and
5. the Insured cancels his/her Covered Trip 48 hours or more before his/her scheduled Covered Trip departure date.
Cancel for Any Reason is subject to the following payment percentage relative to the applicable cancellation penalty:

If Cancellation Penalty Amount Is: Up to 25% of trip cost Percentage of Penalty
 Amount Payable Is: 100% of penalty amount
If Cancellation Penalty Amount Is: 26% to 50% of trip cost Percentage of Penalty
 Amount Payable Is: 90% of penalty amount
If Cancellation Penalty Amount Is: 51% to 75% of trip cost Percentage of Penalty
 Amount Payable Is: 80% of penalty amount
If Cancellation Penalty Amount Is: Over 76% of trip cost Percentage of Penalty
 Amount Payable Is: 70% of penalty amount

Post-Departure Trip Interruption
We will pay a Post-Departure Trip Interruption Benefit, up to the amount in the Schedule, if:
1) your arrival on your Covered Trip is delayed beyond the Scheduled Departure Date; or
2) you are unable to continue on your Covered Trip after you have departed on
your Covered Trip due to your, a Family Member’s, or Traveling Companion’s Sickness, Injury, or death.

For item 1 above, the Sickness or Injury must:
a) commence while your coverage is in effect under the plan;
b) for item 2 above, commence while you are on your Covered Trip and your coverage is in effect under the plan; and
c) for both items 1 and 2 above, require the examination and treatment by a Physician, in person, at the time the Covered Trip is interrupted or delayed; and
d) in the written opinion of the treating Physician, be so disabling as to delay your arrival on your Covered Trip or to prevent you from continuing your Covered Trip.

We will pay a benefit if:
1) your arrival on your Covered Trip is delayed beyond the Scheduled Departure Date; or
2) you are unable to continue on your Covered Trip after you have departed on your Covered Trip due to Other Covered Events, as defined.

OTHER COVERED EVENTS means only the following unforeseeable events or their consequences which occur while coverage is in effect under this Policy:
1. Common Carrier delays resulting from inclement weather, or mechanical breakdown of the aircraft, ship or boat or motor coach on which you are scheduled to travel, or organized labor strikes that affect public transportation;
2. arrangements canceled by an airline, cruise line, motor coach company, or tour operator, resulting from inclement weather, mechanical breakdown of the aircraft, ship or boat or motor coach on which the Insured is scheduled to travel, or organized labor strikes that affect public transportation;
Items 1 and 2 above are subject to the following conditions:

a. 
the scheduled carrier connecting times must meet airline required legal minimum connect times; and
b. 
the scheduled time between arrival at the Scheduled Trip Departure City and the scheduled trip departure must be 2 hours or longer.
3. arrangements canceled by a tour operator, cruise line, airline, rental car company, hotel, condominium, railroad, motor coach company, or other supplier of travel services, resulting from Financial Insolvency;
Item 3 above is subject to your plan payment being received prior to/or within 24 hours of final payment for your Covered Trip;
4. a change in plans by you, a Family Member traveling with you, or Traveling Companion resulting from one of the following events which occurs while coverage is in effect under this Policy:
a. 
being directly involved in a documented traffic accident while en route to departure;
b. 
being hijacked, quarantined (except as a result of a pandemic or epidemic), required to serve on a jury, or required by a court order to appear as a witness in a legal action, provided you, a Family Member traveling with you or a Traveling Companion is not 1) A party to the legal action, or 2) Appearing as a law enforcement officer;
c. 
your Home made Uninhabitable by fire, flood, volcano, earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster;
d. 
your Accommodation at your destination made Uninhabitable by fire, flood, volcano, earthquake, hurricane or other natural disaster;
e. 
mandatory evacuation or public official evacuation advisements where there is no mandatory evacuation issued by local government authorities at your destination due to adverse weather or natural disaster. In order to cancel or interrupt your Covered Trip, you must have 4 days or 50% of your total Covered Trip length or less remaining on your Covered Trip at the time the mandatory evacuation ends;
f. 
being called into active military service to provide aid or relief in the event of a natural disaster;
g. a documented theft of passports or visas;
h. a transfer of employment of 250 miles or more;
i. 
a Terrorist Act which occurs in your departure city or in a city which is a scheduled destination for your Covered Trip, provided the Terrorist Act occurs within 7 days of the Scheduled Departure Date for your Covered Trip;
j. 
your involuntary termination of employment or layoff, which occurs more than 15 days after your effective date of coverage and was not under your control. You must have been continuously employed with the same employer for 1 year prior to the termination or layoff. This provision is not applicable to temporary employment, independent contractors or self-employed persons;
k. 
your or your Traveling Companion’s or traveling Family Member’s approved, written military leave involuntarily revoked as a result of being temporarily or permanently reassigned, being called to active military reserve or an extension of deployment beyond a defined tour of duty within 30 days of your departure date. All leave must be approved prior to the Policy effective date. Full or partial mobilization or mass reassignment of Armed Forces, invocation of the War Powers Act, base or unit mobilization is not covered;
l. 
the primary or secondary school where you or your traveling Family Member or Traveling Companion attend(s) must extend its operating session beyond its predefined school year, due to unforeseeable events commencing during the policy effective period, which cause the extension of the predefined school year and the travel dates for the Covered Trip fall within the period of the school year extension. Extensions due to extra-curricular or athletic events are not covered;
m. your host at your destination is hospitalized or dies.

• 1) Your payment for this plan is received within 15 days of Your initial deposit/payment for Your Trip; and
• 2) You insure 100% of all prepaid Travel Arrangements that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions by the Travel Supplier; and
• 3) You cancel Your Trip two (2) days or more before Your Scheduled Departure Date.

Cancel For Any Reason Benefit

If You cancel Your Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this policy, We will reimburse You for 60% of the unused non-refundable prepaid expenses for Travel Arrangements You paid for Your Trip, provided:
1) Your payment for this plan is received within 15 days of Your initial deposit/payment for Your Trip; and
2) You insure 100% of the cost of all Travel Arrangements that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions by the Travel Supplier; and
3) You cancel Your Trip two (2) days or more before Your Scheduled Departure Date.

CANCEL FOR ANY REASON COVERAGE

If the Insured is prevented from taking the Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this plan, the Insurer will reimburse the Insured for 50% of the prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable payments or deposits for insured Trip arrangement(s) up to the Maximum Limit shown for this benefit in the Schedule provided the following conditions are met:
1. the Insured purchases this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage within 15 days of the date the Insured’s Initial Trip Payment or deposit is paid and insures the cost of any subsequent arrangement(s) added to the same Trip within 15 days of the date of payment or deposit for any subsequent Trip arrangement(s); and
2. this insurance coverage is purchased for the full cost of all non-refundable, prepaid Trip arrangements that are subject to cancellation penalties and/or restrictions; and
3. the Insured cancels the insured Trip no less than 48 hours prior to the Departure Date.

This coverage will be terminated and no benefits will be paid under this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage if the full costs of all prepaid, non-refundable Trip arrangements are not insured. Any plan cost paid for this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage will be refunded.

This coverage will be terminated and no benefits will be paid under this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage if the full costs of all prepaid, non-refundable Trip arrangements are not insured. Any plan cost paid for this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage will be refunded.

If the Insured is prevented from taking the Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this plan, the Insurer will reimburse the Insured for 70% of the prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable payments or deposits for insured Trip arrangement(s) up to the Maximum Limit shown for this benefit in the Schedule provided the following conditions are met:

(1) the Insured purchases this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage within 21 days of the date the Insured’s Initial Trip Payment or deposit is paid and insures the cost of any subsequent arrangement(s) added to the same Trip within 21 days of the date of payment or deposit for any subsequent Trip arrangement(s); and
(2) this insurance coverage is purchased for the full cost of all nonrefundable prepaid Trip arrangements that are subject to cancellation penalties and/or restrictions; and
(3) the Insured cancels the insured Trip no less than 48 hours prior to the Departure Date.

This coverage will be terminated and no benefits will be paid under this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage if the full costs of all prepaid, non-refundable Trip arrangements are not insured. Any plan cost paid for this Cancel for Any Reason Coverage will be refunded.

Optional Coverage: Applicable only when specifically requested on the original application and the appropriate additional premium has been paid and purchase confirmed on Your Confirmation of Benefits.

Be advised that the Company requires the Insured to purchase Cancel for any Reason coverage within 30 days of their initial trip deposit. If after 30 days from initial trip deposit, this coverage is not available.

The Company will pay a benefit, up to the maximum shown on Your Confirmation of Benefits, if You are prevented from taking Your Trip for all reasons up to 48 hours prior to departure.

In no event shall the amount reimbursed exceed the lesser of the amount You prepaid for the Trip or the maximum benefit shown on Your Confirmation of Benefits.
