Baggage & Personal Items Loss

LOSS OF CHECKED LUGGAGE

If the Insured's checked luggage is permanently lost by the airline, the program will reimburse the Insured for the replacement of clothing and personal hygiene items lost to a maximum per article limit of $50 up to $250 maximum. This benefit is secondary to any other (including airline) coverage available. The Insured must furnish proof to the Company that full reimbursement has been obtained from the airline.

The Company will reimburse the Insured Person for theft or damage to baggage and personal effects, checked with a Common Carrier provided the Insured Person has taken all reasonable measures to protect, save and/or recover his/her property at all times. The baggage and personal effects must be owned by and accompany the Insured Person at all times.

There will be a per article limit of $50. There will also be a combined maximum limit of $250.

The Company will pay the lesser of the following:

1. 1. The actual cash value (cost less proper deduction for depreciation at the time of loss, theft or damage;
2. 2. The cost to repair or replace the article with material of a like kind and quality; or
3. 3. $50 per article.

Lost Checked Luggage

• In the event your checked luggage is permanently lost by the carrier, the Atlas Plan will provide the following benefit: Up to $250 for replacement of clothes and personal hygiene items, not to exceed $50 for any one item. You must file a formal claim with the transportation provider and provide the Plan Administrator with copies of all claim forms and proof that the transportation provider has paid you its normal reimbursement for the lost checked luggage.

All participants covered by this insurance plan are enrolled in the Global Citizens Associations, whose members are entitled (subject to submission of the proper documentation) to a total of a $500 allowance, and limited to $100 per incident, to cover costs associated with each of the following incidents: Re-issuing a lost passport, Re-issuing a lost airline ticket, Replacing a lost piece of luggage that has not been returned (limited to $100 per piece of luggage) while on your covered trip. This does not include luggage that was temporarily delayed or lost and later recovered.

All participants covered by this insurance plan are enrolled in the Global Citizens Associations, whose members are entitled (subject to submission of the proper documentation) to a total of a $500 allowance, and limited to $100 per incident, to cover costs associated with each of the following incidents: Re-issuing a lost passport, Re-issuing a lost airline ticket, Replacing a lost piece of luggage that has not been returned (limited to $100 per piece of luggage) while on your covered trip. Coverage is provided if a checked baggage is lost due to theft or misdirection if the Insured is a ticketed passenger on any land, water or air conveyance licensed for the transportation of passengers. Benefits will be paid only in excess of amounts paid or payable by the Common Carrier or any other valid and collectible insurance. $50 per Bag/$250 Maximum.
