Travelers are still eligible for coverage when traveling to Europe.

Wyomissing, PA: The U.S. Department of State issued a Europe Travel Alert on May 31st, 2016, informing U.S. citizens to the risk of potential terrorist attacks this summer. Travelers are advised to exercise vigilance when visiting tourist sites, restaurants, commercial centers, attending major events and using public transportation.

TravelSafe understands those planning to travel in Europe may have questions about travel protection and their upcoming trip.

“Most people know that they must buy insurance before it’s needed, but they don’t always realize that this applies to Travel Protection as well. If travel insurance is bought at initial deposit it has the ability to protect against events like terrorism, hurricanes and many others. If it’s not and you’re reading about it or watching it on the news chances are it’s too late to cover it!” – Carlos Cividanes, Vice President, TravelSafe Insurance

Plans are still available for purchase to cover travel in Europe. This alert does not restrict any destination countries from coverage.

TravelSafe plans offer Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption benefits in the event of a terrorist attack. These terms of coverage are not impacted by the Europe Travel Alert.

Canceling a trip due to the Europe Travel Alert can be covered by a plan with Cancel For Any Reason coverage.
