Hurricane Katia was first named a tropical storm, and developed into a hurricane on September 6, 2017.

Many travel insurance policies include coverage for hurricanes that impact travel, as long as the policy was purchased before the storm was named. Travelers who had a policy in place prior to September 6, 2017 may have coverage for Hurricane Katia, including Trip Cancellation and Travel Delay.

If you are currently traveling and affected by Hurricane Katia, contact your provider's 24-Hour Emergency Assistance for help.

Katia became a named storm on September 6, 2017. As of that date, the storm is no longer considered unforeseen and any new travel insurance policies will not provide any coverage related to the storm.

If you purchased a policy before September 6, 2017, you may be covered to cancel or interrupt your trip.
