Hurricane Joaquin became the 2015 Atlantic season’s third hurricane Wednesday morning. Hurricane watches and warnings have been issued for the Bahamas as the storm continues to intensify. Early Wednesday, the storm was centered about 240 miles east-northeast of the central Bahamas and is moving west-southwest near 6 mph. According to the National Hurricane Center, Joaquin could track up the East Coast in the next few days. Any potential landfall on the U.S. East Coast is difficult to forecast at this time, so those living or traveling along the East Coast of the U.S. should pay close attention to the forecast now through this weekend.
