CSA has released an updated position statement on the upgraded Hurricane Andres.
Andres strengthened to become the 2015 Pacific Hurricane Season’s first major hurricane on Sunday, reaching a Category 4 by Sunday evening. Maximum sustained winds speeds peaked at 145 mph and Andres is now weakening. The storm is expected to degenerate by Thursday or Friday as it moves northwest well away from land. Some high surf and swells will continue to affect the west coast of the Baja California peninsula, leading to dangerous rip currents. Customers are strongly encouraged to read their Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage. For plans that do offer coverage for adverse weather and natural disasters, please note that there is no coverage for this specific storm under any plans purchased on or after Sunday, May 31, 2015.
