Tropical Storm Niala formed on Friday in the Pacific Ocean. Downgraded to a tropical depression, Niala was located several hundred miles south-southwest of Hilo, Hawaii, as ofMonday. Niala is expected to degenerate into a remnant low soon as it continues to move to the west-southwest. Although Niala has tracked well south of Hawaii, moisture from the system has helped to enhance rainfall on the Big Island. Moisture and high surf from Niala will decrease on Monday in Hawaii.
