Travelers with Financial Default coverage within their policy can be reimbursed for canceled flights, as long as they meet their policy’s requirements.
The Financial Default benefit is offered by some policies as part of Trip Cancellation coverage.
The Financial Default benefit is time-sensitive. In order for coverage to be available under this benefit, a traveler must have purchased their policy within 10-21 days of their initial trip deposit, depending on the policy.
This benefit also includes a 10-14 wait period. This means coverage is not available under Financial Default for the first 10-14 days after a policy is purchased.
