What travel insurance will cover me if I become pregnant before my trip and don’t want to travel?

Last Updated:

Some policies provide cancellation coverage if you become pregnant after your policies effective date, which is the day after you purchase your policy.

The following policies can provide coverage for travelers who become pregnant after their policies effective date:

  • APRIL Travel Protection – VIP Plan, Choice plan with optional “Enhanced Unforeseen Events” upgrade
  • MH Ross – Asset, Asset Plus, Bridge, Complete
  • RoamRight – Essential, Preferred, Elite, Active, Adventure
  • Travelex – Travel Basic, Travel Max, Travel Select

Additionally, the Cancel For Any Reason benefit allows you to cancel your trip for any reason at all. This is an optional, time-sensitive benefit that must be purchased 14-30 days from your initial booking date and requires you to cancel your trip 2-3 days before your scheduled trip departure. You must insure 100% of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs and this benefit can provide up to 75% reimbursement of these costs.

This coverage is subject to change at any time as conditions related to the Zika virus change.
