Travelers who qualify for Financial Default coverage may be covered under Trip Interruption for additional transportation expenses incurred, as well as the portion of their trip they missed. Additionally, during a common carrier delay, the Travel Delay benefit can reimburse travelers for meals, hotel accommodations, and local transportation expenses incurred.
In order to be eligible for Financial Default coverage, a traveler must have purchased their policy within 10-21 days of their initial trip deposit, depending on the policy. This benefit also includes a 10-14 wait period. This means coverage is not available under Financial Default for the first 10-14 days after a policy is purchased.
