On Tuesday, June 28, 2016, there was a terrorist attack at Istanbul’s Atatürk airport.

The Istanbul Airport Terrorist Attack and Travel Insurance Information Center details travel insurance coverage related to the terrorist bombings at Istanbul’s international airport. Information included in this database is subject to change at any time.

Travelers must have had a policy in place before June 28 to be eligible for coverage related to the Istanbul Airport attack.

The U.S. Department of State declared the attack an act of terrorism, meeting the definition of terrorism on most travel insurance policies. Travelers must meet their policy's other requirements for Terrorism coverage in order to cancel their trip due to the terrorist attack.
