On Sunday, June 12, 2016, a mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, left 50 dead and more than 50 people wounded.

In his remarks following the attack, President Barack Obama declared the shooting “an act of terror” and stated it was being investigated as terrorism.
