On January 7, 2015, suspected terrorists attacked a newspaper office in Paris. Our sympathies go out to those who have been impacted by this terrible violence.
Allianz Global Assistance customers who are planning to travel to Paris within the next 30 days should review their travel insurance policy for coverage related to terrorism at their destination.
This attack became a known event on January 7, 2015. Customers who purchased their travel insurance policy prior to that date, may be eligible for the following benefits.
Travel insurance may provide coverage for trip cancellation and interruption when there is a terrorist event at the customer’s destination within 30 days of the day they are scheduled to arrive. In this case, customers may be covered for losses related to trip cancellation and interruption, travel delay, baggage delay or loss and emergency medical and dental services. Policy holders may also take advantage of emergency medical assistance, emergency medical transportation, legal assistance and travel and document assistance.
