Winter storm Grayson, described as a “bomb cyclone,” is expected to hit this week from Wednesday January 3, 2018 into the following day. Heavy snow, freezing rain and damaging wind gusts will impact the eastern seaboard as far south as Florida, and cause coastal flooding in much of the New England region. Blizzard warnings have been issued for the following areas: Block Island, Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard to Cape Cod, most of the Massachusetts coast, coastal New Hampshire, Maine, southern Delmarva peninsula and Virginia Tidewater, including Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Residents or visitors to these areas are being cautioned to stay indoors with travel being “very dangerous to impossible” according to the National Weather Service.
