The first major storm of the 2019-20 winter season hit just before Thanksgiving, canceling hundreds of flights and delaying thousands more.

Travelers can no longer purchase a policy with coverage for losses related to a winter storm once the storm has been named.

Policies purchased before a winter storm is named can include coverage for travel delays and cancellations due to the storm.
