Allergies can be considered a Pre-Existing Condition if you have received a diagnosis or had a change in treatment, advice, or prescription, or your condition has not remained stable, within the look-back period of the policy.
If there have been any changes in your allergies within the look-back period of the policy, your allergies would be considered to be a Pre-Existing Condition. This period is typically 60-180 days prior to the effective date of your policy.
If you’ve remained completely stable within the look-back period, with no changes, your allergies would not be considered to be a Pre-Existing Condition and you can be covered in the event of an unforeseen reoccurance.
Pre-Existing Conditions are generally excluded from coverage, however, Pre-Existing Condition coverage is available on some policies if purchased within 14-30 days of your initial booking date.
