The Baggage Delay benefit requires your baggage is delayed for typically 12 or 24 hours in order to be covered for the purchase of clothing, toiletries, and other essential items. Typically, there is a a per person benefit amount, and sometimes this benefit includes a daily limit for coverage.

Baggage Delay generally only provides coverage on your outbound journey, and does not provide coverage for delayed baggage when returning home. Usually, Baggage Delay only applies to checked luggage, however a few providers will also extend coverage to luggage that is delayed by a hotel or tour operator.
