American travel agents are forecasting a swell in the number of flights and cruises taken overseas this summer.

Almost seven in ten managers associated with the AAA expect a jump in summer bookings and half of those polled believe more Americans will take more cruises to Europe, as well as Alaska, due to favorable prices.

A growing number of families are also traveling with their children, AAA travel agents report, justifying the need for all-inclusive travel insurance deals that protect in the event of the worst-case scenario.

Vacationers can compare the best travel insurance deals around using Squaremouth, the only company to offer a zero complaint policy.

According to the AAA report, Rome remains the most popular flight destination for American travelers for the second year running, ahead of London, Vancouver, Cancun and Paris.

Orlando and Las Vegas remain the favorite cities for domestic vacationers, though Seattle has replaced Hawaii as the third city of choice, ahead of New York and Los Angeles, which occupy fourth and fifth in the list respectively.

International hotspots this year are expected to be Croatia, Costa Rica, Poland and China, while Chicago, Las Vegas and Boston are expected to experience more tourism than usual.

AAA agents identified Australia, China, Mexico, Costa Rica and London as the best places to bag a bargain in 2007.
