ST. PETERSBURG, FL March 14, 2013 – Travel insurance comparison site, Squaremouth, names CSA Travel Protection the top-selling travel insurance provider for February 2013. CSA captured 21.56% of overall premium sales for the month and 21.24% of total premium sales so far this year.
CSA took the number one spot last month over 22 other top U.S. travel insurance providers offering policies on squaremouth.com. Squaremouth sells CSA’s Custom Comprehensive and Custom Luxe Comprehensive plans, which are popular for travelers looking for a range of coverage from trip cancellation to baggage and personal items loss.
A total of 690 Custom Comprehensive plans sold in the month of February, more than any other plan offered on Squaremouth’s website. Travelers spent an average premium of $261.29 on this particular plan.
“CSA has taken over the top spot for the past two months,” says Chris Harvey, CEO of Squaremouth. “They’re always in the top five, but it’s new for us to see CSA consistently selling more than Travel Insured International, which usually takes the number one spot.”
Travel Insured International dominated overall market sales in 2012, but has come in as the second best-selling provider so far this year. The company saw an increase in sales from January to February, however, at just over 2%. The most popular Travel Insured International plan sold was the Worldwide Trip Protector with a total of 303 sales. The average premium spent on this plan was $331.47.
Harvey says CSA Travel Protection will be the provider to watch in upcoming months to see if it can maintain the top spot or if it will allow Travel Insured International to regain the number one status.
