Individual Excellence in Customer Service
“It’s been such an incredible opportunity to get me back on my feet, and to meet people in my new home. I’ve always loved restaurants, loved the interaction with customers, and loved sharing my passion for food and wine.”
I moved to St. Petersburg from my home state of California about 8 months ago. I had just lost my father to cancer, my house to a rapidly declining housing market, and a company I had started in 2008 because of some bad paying customers. Desperately in need of a new start I decided to move to Florida for the warmer weather, for the warmer water, and for the fact that it was about as far from California as I could get without leaving the country. I scoped out several potential cities in Florida, but knew St. Petersburg was the one the second I set foot here. It took me awhile to sort out my affairs in California and prepare for the move. I started dating a chef out there but told him I couldn’t get serious because of my upcoming move. By the craziest coincidence (or fate if you believe in that kind of thing) his hometown was St. Petersburg and he had been thinking of moving home. After waiting long enough to decide he could be the one we sold almost all of our stuff, bought a 1977 Chevy RV off Craig’s List, packed up our 2 dogs and 2 cats and headed across the country.
Almost 2 months, dozens of break downs, and the depletion of all of our savings later, we arrived in St Pete. I waited tables all through college and off and on while I opened my business, so it seemed the most logical place to start looking for jobs. Z Grille was one of the first restaurants I interviewed at and seemed a perfect fit. It’s been such an incredible opportunity to get me back on my feet, and to meet people in my new home. I’ve always loved restaurants, loved the interaction with customers, and loved sharing my passion for food and wine. The food there is unbelievably delicious, which makes my job that much easier.
My other major passion in life is traveling, which made it especially awesome when Squaremouth gave me literally the greatest tip I’ve ever received. I love that it came from a company in the travel industry, and one that specializes in customer service. It was such an incredible time for it to come too, heading into what can only be described as my late thirties, wondering what I’m doing with my life, if I made the right choices…
Just knowing that there are people out there who appreciate the service I, and the other recipients, provided makes it all worthwhile. As cliche as it is, it’s true! THANK YOU!!!!!!
