Due to Tropical Storm Arthur, American Modern is imposing the following guidelines & restrictions for new Travel policies in the following states:
§ Florida – entire state
§ Georgia – coastal counties
§ North Carolina – coastal counties
§ South Carolina – coastal counties
§ Virginia – coastal counties & independent cities
TEMPORARY BINDING RESTRICTIONS DUE TO WEATHER CATASTROPHES OR OTHER NATURAL HAZARDS
Ø American Modern will announce temporary binding restrictions when a known natural hazard (such as a tropical storm, hurricane, or brushfire) is imminent or occurring. The restriction will remain in place until American Modern announces that it has been lifted.
Ø The event is no longer considered an unforeseen event. Trip cancellation and trip interruption benefits are not payable if a natural hazard (such as a brushfire, tropical storm, or hurricane) is named on or before the Effective Date of the policy or less than 14 days after the Effective Date (if applicable).
Ø This guideline applies only to new policies that are effective on or after the effective date of the restriction and covering travel during such time. It does not apply to new policies to cover travel after the event is expected to have passed.
This restriction is effective Thursday, July3rd & will remain in place until it is lifted.
