Today, Tropical Storm Elida become the fifth tropical storm of the 2014 Pacific Hurricane Season. Elida is 120 miles south of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is expected to move away from the coast of Mexico over the next few days. The storm will bring tropical storm-force winds to the coast, as well as swells and rip currents to Mexican beaches. Up to 6 inches of rain can be expected for certain parts of coastal Mexico, risking flash floods and mudslides.
