Released: 8/19/2014

Tropical Storm Lowell formed on Monday evening about 700 miles west-southwest of the tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, becoming the 12th named storm of the 2014 Pacific Hurricane Season.  Lowell is forecast to move northwestward, roughly paralleling the coast of Mexico but staying well offshore.  Some strengthening is expected over the next 1-2 days, and eventually, moisture originating from Lowell could enhance rainfall from monsoon-related thunderstorms in the southwestern U.S. later this week.  Customers are strongly encouraged to read their Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage.  For plans that do offer coverage for adverse weather and natural disasters, please note that there is no coverage for this specific storm under any plans purchased on or after Monday, August 18th, 2014.  Please contact CSA Travel Protection with questions.
