Tropical Storm Odile formed in the Pacific Ocean today, to become the 15th tropical storm of the 2014 Pacific Hurricane Season. With top winds of 40 miles per hour, the storm system was 220 miles south-southwest of Lazaro Cadenas, Mexico, moving northwest at 3 mph, the National Hurricane Center said in an advisory this morning. The storm will threaten catastrophic flooding in areas recently affected by Hurricane Norbert. This system is expected to continue slowly shifting northward through the end of the week, then pick up more speed during the weekend as it likely strengthens to become a hurricane.
