August 24, 2010. Dengue fever death toll passes 100 in Malaysia

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai warned on August 23rd that global warming and changing weather patterns may be to blame for rising dengue fever cases in Malaysia as the death toll from the disease passed 100, compared to 67 over the same period in 2009. Officials reported some 29,183 cases of dengue fever from January to August 2009, compared to 31,375 in the same period in 2010.
