I am scheduled to travel to India within a few weeks and wish to cancel due to recent terrorism. Does my travel insurance cover this?

Your travel insurance may or may not cover cancellation for terrorism depending on the policy you purchased.  Conditions generally apply to policies which do cover cancellation/interruption as a result of terrorism.  The policy must have already been in effect at the time of the event and you must be scheduled to travel in that city within a specified number of days from the covered event (usually 7 – 30, again depending on the policy).  Additionally, some companies require that the policy be purchased within a few weeks of the first payment towards the trip to be eligible for coverage.
