Trip cancellation policies will provide coverage for unforeseen events listed under the policy. When an otherwise covered event like a tropical storm has officially been named, travelers are no longer able to purchase a policy to provide coverage for that event.

CSA Travel Protection has released the following explantation of travel insurance coverage regarding the newly named Tropical Storm Dorian.

Tropical Storm Dorian

Tropical Storm Dorian, the fourth named storm of the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane season, has formed today.  The storm is in the far eastern Atlantic, and is expected to keep a steady path bringing it to the Caribbean by early next week.  Customers are strongly encouraged to read their Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage.  For plans that do offer coverage for adverse weather and natural disasters, please note that there is no coverage for this specific storm under any plans purchased on or after July 24th, 2013.  Please contact CSA Travel Protection with questions.
