Latest Position Statement from CSA Regarding Tropical Storm Flossie

Residents and travelers are beginning preparations as Tropical Storm Flossie heads toward the Hawaiian Islands. Any travel insurance policies purchased after July 25th, when the storm was named, will not provide coverage for losses related to Tropical Storm Flossie.

Tropical Storm Flossie, the sixth named storm of the 2013 Pacific Hurricane season, has formed today.  The storm is more than a thousand miles away from land, but is on a path to reach Hawaii through next week.  Forecasters expect the storm to be weak by the time it reaches Hawaii, most likely as a remnant low, depression or minimal tropical storm.  The storm poses no threat to the Mexican Pacific Coast. Customers are strongly encouraged to read their Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage.  For plans that do offer coverage for adverse weather and natural disasters, please note that there is no coverage for this specific storm under any plans purchased on or after July 25th, 2013.  Please contact CSA Travel Protection with questions.
