Pandemics and Travel Insurance
On June 11 2009, the WHO declared the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) as a pandemic, officially reaching level 6. This can affect travel insurance coverage, as individual plans list there own exceptions. One such exception refers to pandemics or epidemics. When a policy has this exception, medical coverage related to the pandemic will cease once the pandemic is declared. Not all travel insurance plans have this exception, learn more in Squaremouth’s press release about the swine flu pandemic. Always refer to the certificate of insurance for details.
