Terrorism Coverage Included in Most Travel Guard Plans
Though we may wish there was no need, some travelers do worry about the possibility of a terrorist incident when planning trips to popular tourist destinations. Offering your clients a travel insurance plan with terrorism benefits can provide important coverage if a terrorist incident should occur in a city on their itinerary.
Travel Guard’s most popular retail plans (Cruise, Tour & Travel; Protect Assist; Travel Guard Essential Expanded; Travel Guard Essential) each include coverage for terrorist incidents. Coverage is also available as an optional upgrade on the My Travel Guard plan. In addition to the trip cancellation benefit this coverage can provide, Travel Guard Assist’s services can also be very beneficial. Travel Guard Assist’s 24/7 assistance services can provide emergency travel arrangements, message relay to home, cash wire transfers, assistance with travel documents, emergency medical assistance, and much more. These valuable services can be very helpful to travelers far from home who may find themselves in an unstable situation.
As with all insurance plans, it is important that clients review the entire description of coverage to understand what is and is not covered under the policy.
A Terrorist Incident as defined in the Travel Guard plans means:
The terrorism-related trip cancellation benefit applies when the terrorist incident occurs in a city listed on the insured’s itinerary within 30 days of the insured’s scheduled arrival. (A city is defined as an incorporated municipality having defined borders and does not include the high seas, uninhabited areas, or airspace.)
