On February 28,  the US Department of State issued a travel warning for Ukraine, warning “U.S. citizens to defer all non-essential travel to Ukraine, and particularly the Crimean Peninsula, due to the potential for instability following the departure of former President Yanukovych, the establishment of a new government, and the movement of Russian troops in Crimea.”

While Tin Leg’s thoughts remain with the people affected by the events in Ukraine, as of March 5, 2014, Tin Leg plans are not eligible for travel to Ukraine. This restriction will remain in effect until the travel warning is lifted by the US Department of State.

Any Tin Leg customers who are already in Ukraine and need assistance should contact our toll-free 24 hour emergency assistance number immediately at 866-887-7105.

Tin Leg policies also specifically exclude cancellation due to “war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities between nations (whether declared or not), civil war”. Tin Leg recommends travelers read their travel insurance certificate or contact their travel insurance provider to understand their coverage.
