Layoff insurance is included in many travel insurance polices. It protects you from financial loss for a cancelled vacation as a result of an unforeseen layoff or termination of employment if you have been been employed with the same employer for 1 – 5 consecutive years, depending on the policy. However, expect to pay about 50% more for this benefit which typically refunds less than 100% of your trip cost.
