32.9.1 Replacement of clothing and hygiene items not to exceed $100 for any one item.

BAGGAGE AND PERSONAL EFFECTS

If Your Baggage, personal effects, passports, travel documents or visas are lost, damaged, or stolen during Your Trip, the Company will pay the lesser of: a) the cash value (original cash value less depreciation) as determined by the Company or, b) the cost of replacement, up to the Maximum Limit shown in the Schedule subject to the special limitations shown below.

Special Limitations:

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Company will cover up to the maximum amount indicated for the following:

BAGGAGE COVERAGE

We will reimburse you, up to the amount shown in the Schedule, less any amounts payable under your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance, for direct loss, theft, damage or destruction of your Baggage, passports or visas during your Trip, provided you have taken reasonable steps to protect your Baggage against loss, theft, damage and destruction. Under this coverage, we will also provide benefits for the administrative fees to reissue lost, stolen or damaged tickets, visas or passports. We will also pay for loss due to unauthorized use of your credit cards, if you have complied with all of the credit card conditions imposed by the credit card companies.

Valuation and Payment of Loss

Payment of loss under the Baggage Benefit will be calculated based upon an Actual Cash Value basis. For items without receipts, payment of loss will be calculated based upon 75% of the Actual Cash Value at the time of loss. At our option, we may elect to repair or replace your Baggage. We may take all or part of damaged Baggage as a condition for payment of loss. In the event of a loss to a pair or set of items, we will:

1. repair or replace any part to restore the pair or set to its value before the loss; or

2. pay the difference between the value of the property before and after the loss.

Continuation of Coverage

If the covered Baggage, passports or visas are in the custody of a Common Carrier, and delivery is delayed, this coverage will continue until the property is delivered to you. This continuation of coverage does not include loss caused by or resulting from the delay.

Items Not Covered

We will not pay for damage to or loss of:

1. animals; or

2. Business Equipment, household furniture, musical instruments, brittle or fragile articles; or

3. boats, motors, motorcycles, motor vehicles, aircraft, and other conveyances or equipment, or parts for such conveyances; or

4. artificial limbs or other prosthetic devices, artificial teeth, dental bridges, dentures, dental braces, retainers or other orthodontic devices, hearing aids, any type of eyeglasses, sunglasses or contact lenses; or

5. documents or tickets (except for administrative fees required to reissue tickets, as noted above); or

6. money, stamps, stocks and bonds, postal or money orders, securities, accounts, bills, deeds, food stamps or credit cards, except as noted above; or

8. telephones, computer hardware or software; or 9. consumables, medicines, perfumes, cosmetics and perishables; or

Losses Not Covered

We will not pay for loss arising from:

1. defective materials or craftsmanship; or

2. normal wear and tear, gradual deterioration, inherent vice; or

3. rodents, animals, insects or vermin; or

4. mysterious disappearance; or

5. electrical current, including electric arcing that damages or destroys electrical devices or appliances.

Your Duties in the Event of a Loss

In case of loss, theft or damage to Baggage, you must:

1. immediately report the incident to the hotel manager, tour guide or representative, transportation official, local police or other local authorities and obtain their written report of your loss; and

2. take reasonable steps to protect your Baggage from further damage, and make necessary, reasonable and temporary repairs. We will reimburse you for these expenses. We will not pay for further damage if you fail to protect your Baggage.

Lost Baggage and Personal Effects

Coverage is secondary to any coverage provided by a Common Carrier.

If Baggage or Personal Effects are lost, damaged or stolen, the Company will pay the loss, up to the maximum amount indicated on the Benefit Overview Matrix, provided You have taken all reasonable measures to protect, save and/or recover Your property at all times.

You must notify the appropriate local authorities at the place the loss occurred and inform them of the value and description of Your property within 24 hours after the loss. Finally, You must file written proof of loss with the Company within 90 days from the date of loss, except as otherwise prohibited by law, attaching copies of airline, cruise line or Common Carrier claims forms, original police reports, passport/visa reissuance receipts, an itemization and description of lost items and their estimated value, and all receipts, credit card statements, canceled checks, photos, or other appropriate documentation as may be required.

The baggage and personal effects must be owned by and accompany You at all times.

Property or losses not covered:
- Animals;
- Property used in trade, business or for the production of income, household furniture, musical instruments, brittle or fragile articles, or sporting equipment if the loss results from the use thereof;
- Boats, motors, motorcycles, motor vehicles, aircraft and other conveyances or equipment, or parts for such conveyances;
- Bicycles, skis, snowboards (except when checked with a Common Carrier);
- Eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, artificial teeth and limbs;
- Keys, money, securities, bullion, stamps, credit cards, and deeds;
- Documents or tickets, except for the administrative fees required to reissue tickets or documents;
- Property shipped as freight or shipped prior to Your Trip departure date;
- Rugs or carpets of any type;
- Perishables, medicines, perfumes, cosmetics and consumables;
- Property that is left in or on a car trailer;
- Property that is left in a vehicle if the vehicle is not properly secured;
- Damage due to electrical current, including electric arcing that damages or destroys electrical devices or appliances;
- Damage to the property resulting from defective materials or workmanship, ordinary wear and tear, and normal deterioration.

The plan will pay the lesser of:

- The maximum coverage available under the plan; or
- The actual purchase price of a similar item; or

Finally, You must file written proof of loss with the Company within 90 days from the date of loss, except as otherwise prohibited by law, attaching copies of airline, cruise line or Common Carrier claims forms, original police reports, passport/visa reissuance receipts, an itemization and description of lost items and their estimated value, and all receipts, credit card statements, canceled checks, photos, or other appropriate documentation as may be required.

The baggage and personal effects must be owned by and accompany You at all times.

Property or losses not covered:
- Animals;
- Property used in trade, business or for the production of income, household furniture, musical instruments, brittle or fragile articles, or sporting equipment if the loss results from the use thereof;
- Boats, motors, motorcycles, motor vehicles, aircraft and other conveyances or equipment, or parts for such conveyances;
- Bicycles, skis, snowboards (except when checked with a Common Carrier);
- Eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, artificial teeth and limbs;
- Keys, money, securities, bullion, stamps, credit cards, and deeds;
- Documents or tickets, except for the administrative fees required to reissue tickets or documents;
- Property shipped as freight or shipped prior to Your Trip departure date;
- Rugs or carpets of any type;
- Perishables, medicines, perfumes, cosmetics and consumables;
- Property that is left in or on a car trailer;
- Property that is left in a vehicle if the vehicle is not properly secured;
- Damage due to electrical current, including electric arcing that damages or destroys electrical devices or appliances;
- Damage to the property resulting from defective materials or workmanship, ordinary wear and tear, and normal deterioration.

The plan will pay the lesser of:

- The maximum coverage available under the plan; or
- The actual purchase price of a similar item; or
- The cost to repair or replace the item.

No coverage will be provided for loss(es) due to any General Exclusion.

Please refer to the Benefit Overview Matrix for the maximum coverage amount available under this Certificate of Coverage.

For the purposes of this coverage, the following definitions apply:

Baggage means luggage and personal possessions, whether owned, borrowed or rented, taken by You on the Trip.

Personal Effects are items carried on your person while traveling and include items in a brief case, purse, pocketbook or backpack. Personal effects reimbursement includes, but is not limited to: items of clothing worn on your person, jewelry, passport, computer equipment, cameras and mobile devices.

Common Carrier means an entity licensed to carry passengers for hire on land, water or air, excluding vehicle rental companies.

We will reimburse You, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, less any amount paid or payable by a party responsible for Your loss, for Your Baggage and sports equipment which is permanently lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed during Your Trip, provided You have taken all reasonable measures to protect, save and/or recover Your property at all times.

We will also reimburse You for fees associated with the replacement of Your passport and visas which are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed during Your Trip.

Valuation and Payment of Loss:

The lesser of the following amounts will be paid:

Items Subject To Special Limitations: a combined maximum of $500 (without a per item limit) will be paid for jewelry; precious or semi-precious stones; watches; articles consisting in whole or in part of silver, gold or platinum; furs or articles trimmed with fur; cameras (and their accessories and related equipment); laptop or tablet computers; cell phones, PDA’s and similar mobile devices; and other digital or electronic equipment or media; and sporting equipment.

The following exclusions and limitations apply to Baggage and Personal Effects and Sports Equipment, Baggage Delay, Business Equipment Rental and Sports Equipment Rental:

We will not provide benefits for any loss or damage to:

1) animals;

2) automobiles and automobile equipment; boats or other vehicles or conveyances; motorcycles; trailers; motors; or aircraft;

3) bicycles, except when checked as baggage with a Common Carrier;

4) household effects and furnishings; antiques and collector items;

5) eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, artificial teeth, dentures, dental bridges, or retainers, or other orthodontic devices or hearing aids;

6) artificial limbs or other prosthetic devices;

7) keys, money, and credit cards (except as otherwise specifically covered herein); securities, stamps, tickets, and documents (except as coverage is otherwise specifically provided herein);

8) sporting equipment if the loss results from the use thereof.

We will not provide benefits for any loss or damage caused by or resulting from:

1) breakage of brittle or fragile articles;

2) wear and tear or gradual deterioration;

3) confiscation or appropriation by order of any government or custom’s rule;

4) theft or pilferage while left in any unlocked or unattended vehicle;

5) property illegally acquired, kept, stored or transported;

6) Your negligent acts or omissions;

7) property shipped as freight or shipped prior to the Scheduled Departure Date;

8) electrical current, including electric arcing that damages or destroys electrical devices or appliances;

9) insects, vermin or inherent vice.

Your Duties After Loss of or Damage to Property or Delay of Baggage:

Provide us with a copy of the outcome of your claim, along with the written loss statements, receipts, etc. Proof of a missing bag report must be filed with the Common Carrier. Claims will not be considered unless proof of ownership and evidence of value is provided. LOSS OF CHECKED BAGGAGE

This plan will reimburse You for lost baggage and personal effects checked with a Common Carrier provided You have taken all reasonable measures to protect, save and/or recover Your property at all times. The baggage and personal effects must be owned by and accompany You at all times. Benefits will be paid to the maximum stated in the Schedule of Benefits. The plan will pay the lesser of the following:

1. The actual cash value (cost less proper deduction for depreciation at the time of loss);

2. The cost to repair or replace the article with material of a like kind and quality; or

3. $50 per article.

This coverage is secondary to any coverage provided by a Common Carrier. You must furnish proof to the Underwriter that full reimbursement has been obtained from the airline.
