We called Allianz when our flight from Dallas to Sao Paulo (Brazil) got delayed for 12 hours, since we were worried about missing all our domestic flights in Brazil. Allianz was not very helpful. We were not told how to proceed or if our extra expenses due tot he delayed flight would be reimbursed. It would have been great to have been reassured that we could make our decisions (i.e, rebooking our domestic flights in Brazil) knowing that our travel insurance would cover the last minute expenses.
We bought the insurance at the last minute before our winter trip to Iceland in the event we had an accident or became ill while away. The insurance gave us peace of mind while on vacation.
The cost was very reasonable. Thankfully, we did not have to make any claims.

I never had a problem that required contacting the provider, or making a claim for my trip.
I heard very favorable reviews from a friend, that's why I chose Allianz.
I will reserve judgement about future use of Allianz after my claim is resolved.

My husband fell backwards in the shower the day before we were to go on the cruise and we had to cancel the cruise.
Just received the forms and am emailing them today

We have a possible claim and attempted to contact Allianz on 3/5 to see if there was coverage. There was a long phone wait to speak to a representative, so I sent an email about the possible claim and to date I have not received a response
I called Allianz customer service for specific question. The representative was not able to help me at all. Can not rate the second and third questions as I did not have to use Allianz services during the trip.

Insurance seems nebulous until you need it and then you know
how good or bad it is? I am wishful when I purchase a policy like this
