I didn't have any real interaction with the carrier before the trip, other than the timely electronic sending of paperwork. However, I want to praise Squaremouth specifically. Due to some sort of glitch, my purchase didn't go through properly, but a Squaremouth rep called me daily to update me on the progress of the glitch. After a couple of days, it all went through, but I appreciate the personalized service I received from Squaremouth.
Since my claim hasn't yet been satisfied, it's hard to rate this part. However, when I called AmEx a couple of times to get more information about filing the claim, I got conflicting information. One person said I couldn't file electronically; the other person said I could. In both cases, though, it was easy to get a real person on the phone-- there was no "lost in voicemail" maze.
We had no reason to interact with the provider. The policy was clear and easy to understand.
Did not have to use the insurance. Still glad I had it just in case.
