    During my trip to Vietnam, which was covered by the Global Alert policy, my daughter, who is also in my travel party, contracted ear infection. We went to doctor and paid about $75 (after conversion from Vietnamese currency). Upon our return on June 1, I filed a claim on June 19 for the reimbursement of that doctor visit fee. The process was so complicate and onerous, we had to make copies and send in all kind of paperwork including ticket receipts, credit card statement, claimant (my daughter) driver license and itemized medical bill. After filling the claim online (since it is almost impossible to do it on the phone due to waiting time), I sent all the required paperwork in and wait. The email reply from Global Alert acknowledged receiving the claim on June 19. It has been almost 7 weeks and I still did not receive any response. I called to check the status on July 20, and was told it would be resolved by July 25. Today July 28, I still did not received anything. I called and was told the claim is still in process. I chose Global Alert because there good rating in SquareMouth. But for a $75 claim, I had to go through all that hassle and still not get any response, I would give it half (1/2) star out of 5. I would not purchase Global Alert again. I would tell all my friends, relatives and acquaintance not to purchase Global Alert. Similarly, the next time if anybody in my family need travel insurance, I will advise them take the reviews on SquareMouth website cautiously, not trusting it blindly are written there like I did the last three times I purchased my travel insurance on the website. Thanks.

    If I could give zero or minus stars, I would. The claim process was handled by Trip Mate, and it's horrible. They make you fill in and provide tone of paperwork including your credit card statement, ticket receipt, travel itinerary, doctor invoice. I only claim 75$ for my daughter doctor visit, and it took them 8 weeks (maybe even more if I did not complain with Squaremouth). Next time, I would still use Squaremouth, but I would read the review more carefully, not just look at the stars (this insurance has close to 5 stars). And I would make sure that the claim processor is not Trip Mate.

    I called them and left a message about the policy prior to flying and they did not respond after I was asked to leave a message. Fortunately we did not have a claim but it was concerning.

    I needed assistance on what my coverage was due to travel delays. After talking with two representatives, they still were not clear on my coverage. Would expect the agents to be able to describe the coverage that was sold and help me navigate the policy in a timely manner.

    We signed up for our trip eight months ago, estimated the total cost, and bought the Global Alert travel insurance policy through SquareMouth. Two months later, we decided to extend our trip, and were also lucky enough to purchase air travel during a fare war. So we had both a longer and a cheaper trip than we estimated when we bought the travel insurance. I called Global Alert to change our dates of travel and decrease the coverage amount; it took all of a minute to get that done, and the refunded amount showed up on the credit card a few days later. I was very pleased at how easy and fast making this change was. More importantly, I was pleased at the overall value offered by the Global Alert policy.

    I first call Global Alert with my claim on June 13, 2017 and as of today they have NOT COMPLETED MY CLAIM AND HAVE NOT PAID MY CLAIM "(AND I AM NOT HAPPY) BECAUSE I GAVE THEM ALL THE INFORMATION THEY NEEDED BY JUNE 21, 2017 to process and complete my claim.

    No! I would not recommend Global Alert to anyone.
