    Before Trip
    I had no need for anything except the documentation, so the other two ratings don't really apply.

    During Trip
    Again, all went pretty smoothly this trip, so I had no need to contact John Hancock. The five stars is in anticipation that they would have done a good job if I had been too messed up by Hurricane Sandy.

    During Trip
    We had NO idea that baggage losses from a rental car are excluded. The agent said that on page 8 (or somewhere) there was a specific exclusion. This is the worst kind of misrepresentation to hide important things in fine print in a lengthy document few people read. It was NOT mentioned in the summary.

    During Trip
    Insurance carrier refused to accept collect calls from overseas. We tried both phone numbers on the insurance document that we were sent. We had to find medical help on our own and pay for it out of our own pocket. We purchased a very high end policy and got nothing for our money. We intend to demand a refund. We had heard that most travel insurance was a scam and our experience is consistent with this wisdom.

    We like dealing with Square Mouth because we can look over multiple choices of insurance that best fits the current trip. Anytime we have had questions about a specific policy we have called Square Mouth and in every case have received knowledgeable and friendly service.
