I purchased a policy only a few days prior to my trip after realizing I would not have health insurance while out of the country. I went online a found the process very easy. Unfortunately on the morning of my departure my father passed away unexpectedly. I called the customer service line and spoke to Angela H. She was extremely helpful. She patiently explained the process I would need to follow. After submitting my documentation I received a check for the full amount within 3 weeks. I will definitely use this company again.
Angie, at John Hancock Insurance, took our call she was very thorough giving us the information we needed to fill out forms and submit a claim. She immediately e-mailed us the proper forms.
Because the ER in Baberg Germany did not give us forms stating a diagnosis we informed Angie the Uniworld Captain of the River Queen is in the process of having the proper information gathered and sent via Uniworlds offices in Switzerland. Angie assured us we had 90 days to make everything is in order and can send on the receipts and information we have. She gave us her name and extension # so we can call if we have questions. Great service!!
We have purchased travel insurance several times in the past and never have had to use it. We are pleased with SquareMouth and John Hancock .
I had a claim. My other carrier was primary. They took over three months to process the claim. Squaremouth's carrier took less than two weeks.
I did not have any pre-trip contact but when I submitted my forms, downloaded on-line and submitted by mail, the claim was paid in a very reasonable period of time without any issues. It was definitely excellent customer service for a remote, international market. However, as an experienced int'l traveller, I always print and carry copies of my insurance forms and am sure that attending physicians sign them at the time of treatment. This has made made my insurance filings very easy and, using Squaremouth's vendors, 100% successful.
My insurance with John Hancock is the Bronze plan.
My certificate # is ************.
I filled a claim for trip interruption and I haven't been reimbursed yet. They are asking for more papers.
I took that trip in 2015 June 15 to August 10. I was returning originally on July 30 but due to a toothache, I changed my ticket for August 10.
I purchased this insurance thinking they will be more efficient and less bureaucratic. Unfortunately, I now realize you are all the same. I travel lots, internationally and domestically.
I have started looking into another insurance with a speedy return, for this coming up vacation to Urope.
Sorry but I don't have anything nice to say.
Have a lovely day.
