    As I increased the cost of my trip, I purchased additional coverage through RoamRight. Everything went smoothly. What I like about the particular RoamRight Preferred policy is that they will pay a claim if the policy holder owns a business and the trip is canceled for business reasons. There are very few NY State travel policies that have this feature.

    On my ski trip to Sunday River, ME I had a minor calf muscle sprain on my first day of skiing. The next day I had to take a rest day and took the opportunity to contact RoamRight to see what my policy would do to assist me if I had to cut my trip short. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that were I to decide to cut my trip short for a non medical reason my RoamRight policy would assist me to get home and pay up to $1500 assist me to do so, all I had to do was present my receipts.
    For a medical evacuation I was covered up to $50,000 and in that case I would have to have a local doctor examine me to ascertain the extent of my injury. The RoamRight representative was very helpful and informative and even opened a case number for me just in cast I decided to file a claim, even though I told the representative I did not intend to file a claim. All in all a pleasant experience, I would recommend RoamRight.
    I skied the rest of the week and had a very nice time.

    Thus far, RoamRight is avoiding paying the claim based on language that is not in its contract or EOB.
    I was reluctant to buy travel insurance and unfortunately, my fear was justified.

    Submitted claim and got prompt E-mail confirming it was received.. No response when we inquired by E-mail after claim had not been reviewed in over a month. When called they indicated claim was next up for review and it was reviewed and approved that day and paid within a week. Squaremouth had called them the same day so I suspect that helped the process.

    I filed a small ($265) claim for Cancellation for any reason clause. I filed at the end of October. I called to check on it a few weeks ago, and was told claims were backed up due to the volume of hurricane claims. They stated they expected to get to my claim in about a week. Two weeks have passed since that conversation.

    I plan to nudge them in about a week.

    I filed claim in Oct and didn't get a check until December. Took longer than expected. The claims staff was helpful and professional.

    About three weeks before my trip was to begin i had emergency surgery that would prevent me from flying for at least three weeks. I contacted RoamRight, cancelled my trip, submitted the paperwork requested, and was very pleased to find a check in the mail about three weeks later for the full amount I requested. I will always purchase RoamRight for my future travels and strongly recommend it to friends and family.

    To our great disappointment, were unable to make the trip due to a very unexpected medical diagnosis. We filed with Roam Right more than a month in advance of our scheduled departure. There was a request made for additional medical records in mid Sept. (We had submitted the medical form signed by the Cardiac doctor who made the diagnosis.) It is now a month later and we are still waiting to hear back from Roam Right. Currently Roam Right is flooded with new claims because of hurricane Matthew. From the reviews of Roam Right, we had not anticipated the claim would take this long to be resolved.

    We had anticipated a quicker resolution to our claim. The process took 2 1/2 months. Apparently there was a delay due to RoamRight needing additional information from the medical facility and that took more time. Hurricane Matthew also occurred during the time our claim was being processed and that may have been part of the delay. We received the entire amount we claimed and we would use RoamRight again. We did receive prompt responses to our inquiries during the process.
