They have a 24 hour customer service line, but it is answered after hours (9-5 EST) by a person who was both judgmental and incapable of helping with anything more than answering the phone(Stephanie with On Call International). I had a pressing policy question on a Friday night (PST), and had to wait for nearly 3 days to talk with someone actually related to RoamRight.
I had to call RoamRight with policy questions. Ed, who is apparently the claims administrator, was extremely helpful, laid back, and knowledgable. Late in my travel I had to extend my insurance, which was easy and quick to take care of with another lady (Didn't catch her name) at RoamRight.
We were suppose to go on our trip in May of last year, but the travel group canceled the trip because there were not enough people. So, I called RoamRight to have them switch the dates of the trip and they told me that we would have to buy a whole new policy. I called Squaremouth and asked if they could help. They easily called RoamRight and had the dates switched without any additional charge. Thank you SquareMouth!
I had to cancel due to illness and part of my claim was denied (advance payments for museums). This makes no sense as these advance payments are a valid part of what must be paid in advance to travel and are often non-refundable.
Highly recommended! Filed a trip delay claim after an international flight was cancelled and RoamRight reimbursed us promptly and completely for our new last-minute flight and all other expenses we incurred. Claim process was easy and was completed entirely online.
I began feeling ill on a Friday.....I was to leave for Miami and then Cuba the following Tuesday. I saw my doctor on Monday and she advised me not to travel. I called my travel company and then at some point filled out the claim info for RoamRight. I don't remember the timing of all of that as I was not well. A week or so later, I emailed my claim rep to do a follow up. I was advised that the claim had been approved and a check was in the mail. RoamRight was very professional and timely in their response. I will definitely recommend them to all friends and family.
It is like dealing with a huge black hole. Everything goes in and very little comes out. Whether I get reimbursed or not it will be the last time time I will deal with Roan Right. Delay and three weeks to handle a claim and then more delays.
I have tried to explain to xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxx that there was not doctor involved when I cancelled the trip; until after i came back home. I got my letter from her cardiologist and forwarded it to him. No response.
I really hate doing this as I am the sole caregiver for my wife who has both a heart problem and Alzheimer's Disease. So to say I am stressed is an understatement. I will try to stay away from any company or service that causes me more stress than I already have. I am not looking for a pass because of our situation, just some service.
This is my last and final attempt at getting compensation. i will however, do my best to offer my solicited advice should anyone ask me.

We provided a police report and a receipt for a stolen camera. After not hearing from them for 3 or 4 weeks we got an email wanting proof that we were in Barcelona. I sent them a copy of a train ticket, hotel receipt and a copy of the departure day for our cruise. We have not heard from them.
Unfortunately I had to file a claim because of delays with Sunwing Airlines. Mailed the claim in last week.
Called your office immediately when I knew trip was delayed. I received fast and friendly information and a claim was sent to my e-mail address. Thanks!
First time using RoamRight, but it won't be my last! Due to terrorist activity, our cruise ship changed its itinerary ~ 60 days before the cruise which necessitated a revision in already purchased air travel tickets.
RoamRight was true to their policy without any "gotchas". Once I had gathered and faxed them all the required receipts, etc., they sent me a check for the full amount that the change cost me. The process was painless albeit a little slow compared to my experience with another insurer for a claim several years ago. Nevertheless, the check was in my hands within 21 days of the claim being presented.
We had a month-long trip to Europe planned and fortunately purchased insurance for this very expensive trip.
Just a week before departure, my husband became quite ill and was admitted to the hospital. Upon release, he was directed not to leave the country. So, we had to cancel at the last minute. Our tour operator and the airline refunded nothing, so we were very grateful to have trip insurance.
After emailing them hundreds of pages of documentation from the hospital and doctors, the claim was approved. Although it took several weeks to move through Roam Right's process, they only requested one additional piece of information and the claim was paid in full just last week.
I would be happy to purchase from them in the future!
