    We never received any paper documentation, but I assume the electronic documentation was all we needed.

    During Trip
    We had to cancel the trip due to illness and also the insurance before it took effect. We were pleased that the company refunded our premium quickly and without any problems.

    It was all on-line , no service rep was required

    No need for service during the trip

    Claim Process
    This is premature, because I just initiated the claim, but once I described the situation the rep indicated it should be legitimate. Very minor claim so I don't anticipate a lot of issues with it. Maybe I could recomment when it is complete in about a month.

    Claim Process
    The claim settlement has taken so far over 3 weeks, and still not settled. Provided TRAVEL GUARD all the pertinent documents for the claim to be processed. I don't understand why it has taken so long!

    Not applicable-did not make the trip due to medical reasons related to spouse.

    Claim Process
    The customer service during the claim service was good. However, my final rating of the company will depend on the refund. If we do not receive a full refund of our trip expenses, I will be very unhappy and rate it a "1". To date, the refund status is still pending...

    I purchased my policy late on a Saturday night. I received multiple errors and continued on my trip thinking I did not have travel insurance. I asked for a phone call the followig Monday, which I did not receive. Was I ever surprised to return home from my 3-week trip to see that my policy had been processed. Had something happened on my trip, I would not have even known I was covered.

    I had no claim, so cannot evaluate the company's performance. I see I had confusion about the period covered by the insurance. It seems like it only covered the Tanzania portion of the vacation. We were in Europe for 6 days before arriving in Tanzania; and we were in Europe for 3 days after leaving Tanzania. I thought the policy covered our whole vacation. Although it is not crucial this time, I wonder if other people get confused like me on this issue!

    Thank you for purchasing a Travel Guard policy. Regarding your comment, travel insurance policies should be purchased for the entire vacation. When completing the application, you should indicate the date you intend to begin and end your trip in the departure and return date details. The Description of Coverage defines Departure Date as “means the date on which the Insured is originally scheduled to leave on his/her Trip. This date is specified in the travel documents” and Return Date as “means the date on which the Insured is scheduled to return to the point where the Trip started or to a different specified Return Destination. The date is specified in the travel documents.” The Description of Coverage also outlines the effective dates and termination dates by coverage.     Claim Process
    Bought this policy having doubts to begin with. Tried to file a claim and was told the policy didnt cover the reason for the claim which was cancelation. Not suprised at all, there is a reason insurance companies trade on open markets and indices.
