Figures from the AAA reveal that Americans will save millions of dollars via discount programs and promotions while booking travel this summer.

June, July and August are the busiest months of year when it comes to travel, according to the Travel Industry Association. It is also best time of year to bag the biggest bargain, insists Tom Wilt, managing director of partnership programs at the AAA.

“Summer is the hottest time of the year to save on travel,” he confirmed.

New research has also highlighted the fact that theme parks and hotels are the most popular ports of call for American vacationers during the summer months. Forty per cent of summer trips taken by Americans include a theme park visit, while 28 per cent involve a hotel stay.
