The US government announced recently that its citizens will soon travel more freely due to passport legislation.
Those looking for travel insurance and health insurance policies will be interested to hear of the US government’s announcement on Friday that a large backlog of passport applications means current legislation will be temporarily relaxed.
The decision means that US citizens can fly more easily to Mexico, Bermuda and Canada, reports Reuters.
Until September, US citizens flying to these countries will just require a government issued identification pass.
Recent figures show US passport applications will hit 18 million in 2007, which is a sharp increase from the 12.1 million the year before and the five million in 2002.
