Can I cancel my trip if I don’t want to travel in bad weather?

Last Updated:

Fear of traveling during bad weather is not a covered reason to cancel a trip on a standard travel insurance policy.

More Detail

If you do not want to risk traveling because of the weather, a policy with the Cancel For Any Reason upgrade allows you to cancel for a reason not otherwise covered by a standard policy. However, you must cancel at least 2-3 days before your deprature date, and you will only be reimbursed up to 75% of your trip cost.

In order to be eligible for Cancel for Any Reason, you must purchase your policy within 14-30 days of your first trip deposit date and insure 100% of your trip cost.

This information is time sensitive and may vary by policy. If you have questions about a specific policy, please contact us directly at 800-240-0369. Our customer service representatives are available 24/7 and are delighted to help.
