Update: Large crowds of protesters have shut down Hong Kong’s International Airport for the second day in a row, suspending all check-ins and canceling all remaining outgoing flights.
On Monday, August 12, 2019, Hong Kong International Airport canceled all flights due to a large crowd of antigovernment protestors. Thousands of travelers were stranded due to the closure of Hong Kong Airport, which is one of the busiest airports in the world.
This is the second time this month that protests at the airport have forced cancellations. The first protest was held on Monday, August 5, 2019.
