Can I Still Get Trip Interruption With a $0 Trip Cost?

Last Updated:

When getting a travel insurance quote, a trip cost must be entered.  Trip cost can include any expenses of the trip that are pre-paid and non-refundable.  However, if trip cancellation coverage is not needed, then a trip cost of $0 can be entered.

Some travel insurance plans will still include a limited amount of trip interruption coverage, even with a $0 trip cost.  Unlike traditional trip interruption, which will reimburse unused trip cost, at a $0 trip cost, the trip interruption coverage will reimburse the cost of return airfare.  Always refer to the certificate of insurance for details.
