Last Updated:

Released: 1/5/2015

Winter Storm Gorgon formed over the Northwest Sunday, and in a period of 48 hours it is expected to bring a swath of snow more than 2,000 miles long from the Cascades and Northern Rockies, across the Midwest and into the Northeast. This fast-moving system has already prompted winter storm watches, warnings, and advisories for parts of 15 states from Washington all the way to Ohio. As much as 8 inches of snow could fall in a relatively short period of time across the Central Plains through this evening. The system will head to the eastern seaboard Tuesday. Areas like Washington DC through Baltimore and Philadelphia will be in line for a couple inches of snow Tuesday, causing travel problems in those cities. The system will move off the East CoastTuesday night. Customers are strongly encouraged to read their Description of Coverage or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage. For plans that do offer coverage for adverse weather and natural disasters, please note that there is no coverage for this specific storm under any plans purchased on or after Sunday, January 4, 2015.
