We had to cancel our trip due to a medical condition of one of our travel companions. The process to file our claim and proper documentation was fairly easy and the claim was paid in a timely manner.

We had planned and booked a trip to London for 2 weeks in late April, flying with miles, staying mostly in London but with a 4-day all-inclusive holiday of guided walking in the Peak District. The latter expense was the main non-refundable expense, which I covered with the insurance. My husband was diagnosed with a bad case of shingles one week before our departure date to London. We canceled the trip and I filed a claim on the John Hancock claims portal around April 15. The claim was acknowledged immediately and I received one request for additional documentation, which I provided. The claim was processed and I received notice by email that it had been approved 2 weeks after filing. We received the check from John Hancock by May 1.
The process was quick and easy, and totally satisfactory. We will be choosing this insurance comp[any for our trip insurance in the future.
