If my trip was cancelled because of coronavirus, can I cancel my policy and get a refund?

Short Answer

If your trip was canceled because of coronavirus (COVID-19), you may be able to cancel your travel insurance policy and receive a refund if you are within the Money Back Guarantee period.

More Detail

Every travel insurance policy includes a Money Back Guarantee. This is a 10-14 day free look period immediately following the day you purchase the policy. During this period, you may cancel your policy for a 100% refund.

If your trip was canceled because of coronavirus and you did not incur any penalties, please contact your travel insurance provider directly as soon as possible to see how they are accommodating. Many providers are working directly with customers to find solutions, including moving coverage or using their premium for a future trip.

All requests received are treated as exceptions. While a specific outcome can never be guaranteed, all providers are doing what they can to assist where possible.

If you have questions about a specific policy, please contact us directly at 800-240-0369. Our customer service representatives are available from 8am to 10pm ET, seven days a week, and are delighted to help!
