What is Repatriation?
Repatriation provides medical transportation to return to your home country, when recommended by the physician treating you and approved by the provider. Repatriation can also refer to the return of remains to a traveler’s home country.
Repatriation refers to your transportation back home for for medical treatment, as well as the transportation of remains back to your country of residence.
Typically, this coverage is included in the Medical Evacuation and Repatriation benefit. Medical Evacuation is meant to cover the cost of medical transportation to the nearest adequate medical facility, or back home to receive treatment when medically necessary and pre-approved by the travel insurance provider.
